When a friend told me that Eckhart Tolle said (according to her) to accept everything, I immediately realised the funny alarm blaring in my mind.
“OBVIOUSLY WHAT HE MEANT BY THAT IS :
WE ACCEPT EVERYTHING
THAT RESONATES WITH US!“
We accept everything that our
internal awareness heart, soul, or gut feeling guides us to: that light, expansive, and openness sensations.
If an offer to eat with a group of friends came and we feel an inclination to go with them combined with a light and expansive feelings, then saying YES means go with them.
If an offer to eat with a cute guy came but we feel our body so heavy and tired, and at the same time we’re afraid to disappoint him in case he would regret asking us again in the future, then saying YES means telling this guy that we’d love to go with him but we’d need to reschedule to sometimes next month. And if he seemed okay with it and we feel safe with being open, we can tell him that we apologise for the delay but feel happy that he made the reschedule possible.
Saying YES or accept everything simply means say YES to your heart. Means, embrace your every emotion, your every part, your every vulnerabilities..
It is not:
SAYING YES JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE AFRAID TO BE ABANDONED, REJECTED, NOT ACCEPTED, OR NOT LOVED.
If there is fear, sit with it, no need to force it to loose its grips on you with each of your breath.
Hence, like I always preach like a broken record in this blog, dear readers:
Listen well. Listen deep. Don’t confuse your heart with your head…
It is not as easy to discern them but you’ll get there.
In the end, follow what Paulo Coelho said:
“When you say ‘YES’ to others, make sure you’re not saying ‘NO’ to yourself.”
